Swartmore, Pa. - Jenny Line (Carlisle,
Pa./Carlisle), Christina DiTucci (East Rochester, NY/Our
Lady of Mercy) and Lauren Melillo (Boalsburg, Pa./Lewistown)
each had a goal to lift Gettysburg over Swarthmore 3-1 in
conference-action Saturday.
Line scored the first goal of the game, her second of her
collegiate career, in the 37th minute of the game to give
the Bullets a 1-0 lead.
DiTucci netted in a goal, her second of her collegiate career,
in the 40th minute. DiTucci had a game-high eight shots in
the game.
Swarthmore got on the scoreboard in the 49th minute when Gettysburg
had an own goal.
Melillo sealed the victory for the Gettysburg in the 62nd
minute with her second goal of the season.
The Bullets outshot the Garnets 21-1 in the game. Carine
Doyle (Exeter, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) had one save for the
Bullets while Catherine Salussolia had a game-high
14 stops for the Garnets.
Gettysburg improves to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in the Centennial
Conference while Swarthmore falls to 5-2 on the season and
0-2 in the conference.
The Bullets will return to action Thursday when they host
Elizabethtown. Game time is 4 p.m.
