WESTMINSTER, Md. – Ryan Tetteris
hit the game-winning goal in overtime to lift Western Maryland
past Gettysburg 1-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) men’s soccer
action on Wednesday.
Tetteris netted the game-winner after
the ball hit the right post in the 103rd minute off a Barclay
Losse assist.
The Bullets (6-3, 1-2 CC) missed several
scoring opportunities in the second half. Will
Hohman’s (Landenberg, PA/St. Marks) shot was headed-out
of the goal by a Green Terror defender in the 50th minute.
Michael Sarbaugh’s (Elizabethtown,
PA/Elizabethtown) shot went right into Western Maryland
goalkeeper Ryan Difibaugh’s hands in the 58th
minute, and David Pone (Bordenteown, NJ/Bordentown) missed
a two-on-one break wide in the 75th minute.
The Green Terror (7-2, 1-2 CC) outshot
the Bullets 11-6 in the game. Steve Kopp (Upper
Montclair, NJ/Montclair) had four saves for Gettysburg
while Difibaugh had three stops for Western Maryland.
The Green Terror broke a six-game losing
streak against the Bullets and scored their first goal against
Gettysburg in six games.
The Bullets suffer their first road loss
of the year and their second in conference play.
Gettysburg returns to action on Saturday
at Haverford in Centennial Conference action. Match
begins at 3 p.m.
