Bryn Mawr, Pa. - Jenny Line (Carlisle,
PA/Carlisle) scored two goals to lead Gettysburg past
Bryn Mawr 3-0 in conference action on Saturday.
Line scored the first goal of the game off a scramble in front
of the net in the 23rd minute. Line then netted her second
goal of the game, and team-leading fourth goal of the season,
when she knocked in the rebound off a diving save from Mawrters'
goalkeeper Sarah Caldwell in the 42nd minute. The two-goal
performance was the first of her career.
Maureen O'Donnell (Philadephia, PA/St. Basil Academy),
who was playing in her first game of the season after recovering
from a preseason injury, scored in the 44th minute to seal
the victory for the Bullets.
Gettysburg outshot Bryn Mawr 30-3 and did not allow a shot
on goal in the game. Caldwell made 20 saves for the Mawrters.
Gettysburg improves to 6-4 on the season and 3-0 in Centennial
Conference (CC) while Bryn Mawr falls to 2-6 overall and 0-4
in the conference.
The Bullets return to action Wednesday when they battle Western
Maryland in Gettysburg's home-conference opener. Game time
is 4 p.m.
