Down 7-3 in the second quarter, Hampden-Sydney put together an 11-play, 59-yard drive to take the lead for good.

After a completion for no gain and an eight-yard sack, Russell kept the drive going with a 27-yard strike to Herndon that gave the Tigers a first-down on the Gettysburg 40.
