Risley leads Muhlenberg past Gettysburg in Centennial action, 74-58

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Jenn Risley led three players in double figures to lead No. 10 Muhlenberg past Gettysburg 74-58 in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Wednesday.

Risley was 9 of 14 from the floor for 19 points. The senior also recorded five defensive rebounds.

For the Bullets, Dana Bear (Lansdale, PA/Lansdale Catholic) and Adrienne Lampe (Dumont, NJ/Dumont) each recorded 11 points with all of Lampe's points coming in the first half. VanNostrand chipped in nine points.

The Mules were able to jump out to a double-digit lead with 9:16 left in the first half when they went on an 18-7 run.

Gwen Doyle started the run with a 3-pointer at the 12:49 mark and Becky Richmond made the back end of two free throws. Risley and Richmond combined for the team's next 10 points and Susan Marchiano hit a layup before Risley and Jill Friedman capped the run with a bucket apiece.

Trailing 26-13, the Bullets closed the last four minutes of the first half on a 9-4 run to cut the Muhlenberg lead to six, 36-30.

Keriann Van Nostrand (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raitan) led the Bullets in those last four minutes with six points, starting the run with a driving jumper followed by a jump shot by Steph Drevna (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Catholic). Van Nostrand then knocked down a 3-pointer.

Jen Nolan (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley) hit a tough shot in the lane and Van Nostrand hit a pull-up jumper in transition at the buzzer.

The Bullets could get no closer as the Mules cruised to a 74-58 victory.

Besides Risley's game-high 19 points, Muhlenberg got 13 points from Lindsay St. Lawrence while Richmond chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds.

Jay Hodge (Silver Spring, MD/St. Vincent Pallotti) pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds and added six points.

Drevna scored seven points to move past Steph Dravis (966, 1994-98) into seventh place on the program's all-time scoring list.

The Mules improved to 11-0 on the season and 3-0 in CC play while the Bullets fell to 7-6 on the year and 3-2 in the conference.

Gettysburg returns to action on Saturday when they travel to conference rival Franklin & Marshall. Tip-off is 6 p.m.
