                    PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Nicole Barr (Annapolis, MD/Broadneck) 
                    led Gettysburg with 59 kills to help the Bullets win three 
                    of four matches at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational over the 
                    weekend.  
                  Gettysburg (18-12) defeated Allegheny in 
                    four sets (30-25, 30-23, 28-30,30-27), but lost to host Carnegie 
                    Mellon in four sets (16-30, 30-28, 27-30, 21-30) on Friday. 
                     
                  
The Bullets rebounded to win a pair of matches 
                    on Saturday. The squad defeated Lycoming and Muhlenberg in 
                    straight sets by the identical score (30-24, 30-23, 30-28). 
                     
                  
Lauren Boyd (Millersville, MD/Severna 
                    Park), the current CC Player of the Week, tallied 
                    171 assists in the four contests.  
                  
In the victory over Allegeny, Barr led the 
                    team with 15 kills, 16 digs and six blocks while Jessica 
                    Cortese (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) added 14 kills and 
                    14 digs. Boyd led the team with 52 assists and Erica 
                    Rau (Oakland Park, FL/Pine Crest) recorded three service 
                    aces.  
                  
Cortese led the Bullets against Carnegie 
                    Mellon with 12 kills and 17 digs. Boyd recorded 48 assists 
                    and 13 digs. Barr led the team with 19 kills while sophomore 
                     Diana McNamee (King of Prussia, PA/Villa Maria Acad.) 
                    contributed 13 digs.  
                  
Barr led the team with 16 kills and 10 digs 
                    in the victory over Lycoming. Cortese nabbed 13 digs. 
                    Jayme Massey (Springfield, PA/Merion Mercy Acad.) knocked 
                    down nine kills and Boyd led the squad with 39 assists.  
                  
Cortese and Michelle Dorsch (Frederick, 
                    MD/Thomas Johnson) led the team with 13 kills and 
                    12 digs, respectively, against Centennial Conference foe Muhlenberg, 
                    who Gettysburg defeated in straight sets on Oct. 19. Boyd 
                    added 32 assists and four service aces. Barr knocked down 
                    eight kills and Shannan Smith (Milmont, Park, PA/Ridley) 
                    contributed eight digs in the winning effort.  
                  
The Bullets return to action on Wednesday 
                    when they hosts Franklin & Marshall. Match time is 7 p.m.
