SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Chris Borcik (Reisterstown,
MD/Franklin) scored two goal to lead third-ranked
Gettysburg past Swarthmore 2-0 in Centennial Conference (CC)
men's soccer action on Sunday.
Borcik recorded a career-high two goals in
the contest. The sophomore ranks second on the team with five
goals this season.
Goalkeeper Steve Kopp (Upper Montclair,
NJ/Montclair) became the 13th netminder in program
history to record 200 career saves after making five stops
against the Garnet (5-11-1, 0-7 CC). Kopp has eight shutouts
on the year, including six against CC opponents.
Nate Shupe made seven saves
in the losing effort.
The Bullets (12-2-2, 6-1 CC) rebounded from
a 2-1 double-overtime loss to Franklin & Marshall on Saturday
by scoring two second half goals against Swarthmore to end
a two-game losing streak.
Borcik scored the first goal of the game
off a James Bealer (Darien, CT/Darien) assist
in the 69th minute.
Seven minutes, 52 seconds later Borcik found
the twine off a James Miller (Redlands, CA/Redlands)
assist to seal the victory.
Gettysburg returns to action on Wednesday
when the Bullets travel to Johns Hopkins. Game time is 7 p.m.
