SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Sophomore Nicole Barr (Annapolis,
MD/Broadneck) knocked down 20 kills and added 16 digs
in two matches to lead Gettysburg past Bryn Mawr 3-0 and Swarthmore
3-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Saturday.
With both victories, the Bullets (21-12,
9-1 CC) clinch top seed and home court advantage for the CC
playoffs on Nov. 9.
Sophomore Jessica Cortese (Lancaster,
PA/Hempfield) tallied a team-high 12 kills, while
Erica Rau (Oakland Park, FL/Pine Crest) posted
seven kills and five aces to help Gettysburg defeat Bryn Mawr
30-13, 30-25 and 30-14.
In the Bullets second match, Gettysburg downed
Swarthmore 30-20, 30-7 and 30-20 with the help from Barr who
collected 11 kills and 11 digs.
Shannan Smith (Milmont Park, PA/Ridley)
collected 14 assists and Joan Nagel (North Wales, PA/North
Penn) added nine kills digs in the second match.
Lauren Boyd (Millersville, MD/Severna
Park) dished out 48 assists and Michelle Dorsch
(Frederick, MD/Thomas Johnson) recorded 14 digs on
the day.
The Bullets return to action on Wednesday
at home against Shippensburg. Match time is 7 p.m.
