GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Niki Mueller and Danielle Hart each knocked down 11 kills as third-ranked Juniata defeated Gettysburg 3-0 in the first round of the Gettysburg National Invitational on Friday.

Lauren Boyd (Millersville, MD/Severna Park) posted a team-high 13 assists and six digs while Erin Barkdoll (Dover, PA/Dover) added six kills for the Bullets.

In game one, the Bullets jumped out to a 4-3 lead before the Eagles rallied back and scored 11 of the next 12 points to take a 14-5 advantage. Juniata's Carli Dale keyed the run by serving out seven straight points. Juniata never looked back en route to a 30-14 game one victory.

The Eagles took an early 6-1 in game two before Gettysburg battled back to within one point at 14-13. Juniata would not let the Bullets come any closer, however, holding onto their lead to win the second game 30-22 and make it 2-0 in the match.

In the final game, the Bullets came out strong with a 7-3 lead before the Eagles bounced back and rattled off eight straight points to go up 11-5 and cruise to a 30-22 decision.

In the night's other match, George Fox defeated Ithaca, 30-28, 30-23, 30-17.

Gettysburg will face Ithaca on Saturday at 10 a.m and George Fox at 1 p.m. Juniata squares off with George Fox at 10 a.m. and Ithaca at 1 p.m. also on Saturday.
