WASHINGTON, D.C. -Nicole Barr (Annapolis, MD/Broadneck) recorded 42 kills and 36 digs in three matches as Gettysburg defeated Widener and Mary Washington 3-0 while falling to Catholic 3-1 at the Catholic Invitational on Saturday. Barr had a career-high 22 kills against Catholic and was the only Bullet named to the All-Tournament team.

Lauren Boyd (Millersville, MD/Severna Park) collected 111 assists on the day, including a season-high 57 in 3-1 loss to Catholic.

The Bullets (9-10) swept Widener 30-20, 30-26, 30-24 in match one before defeating Mary Washington 30-11, 30-25, 30-24.

Barr led Gettysburg with 11 kills and 17 digs in the three-straight set over Widener, then turned around and posted nine kills and 12 digs to lead the Bullets past Mary Washington.

Diana McNamee (King of Prussia, PA/Villa Maria) served up a season-high six aces and Shannan Smith (Milmont Park, PA/Ridley) dished out a career-high 21 assists against Mary Washington.

In the third match, Gettysburg rallied back from a 30-26 loss in the opening game against Catholic to capture the next game 30-25. Catholic came out strong in the third set winning 30-21, before going on to win the final game 30-25 and hand the Bullets their first loss of the day.

Jessica Cortese (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) knocked down a career-high 25 kills and 14 digs in the loss to Catholic, while recording 41 kills and 28 digs to finish 2-1 on the day.

The Bullets return to action on Saturday with a conference tri-match against Ursinus and Haverford at Ursinus. Matches begin at 11 a.m.
