Box Score

CARLISLE, Pa. - David Glaser (West Chester, PA/Malvern Prep) scored a game-high 26 points as Gettysburg built a double-digit halftime lead and held on down the stretch to defeat Dickinson 62-54 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action on Wednesday.

Glaser scored 21 of his 26 points on 8-of-10 shooting in the decisive first half and added a team-best 10 rebounds for his third collegiate double-double. With the victory, the Bullets (9-9, 5-1 CC) remained tied for first place in the CC West Division with Franklin & Marshall, an 84-57 winner over Johns Hopkins on Wednesday.

Freshman Erik Fromm (Swedesboro, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) added eight points and a career-high nine rebounds in the winning effort while Dami Oloruntoba (Glenn Dale, MD/Eleanor Roosevelt) hauled in nine rebounds and blocked a career-high four shots.

The loss overshadowed an outstanding effort from Dickinson's Jon Schwadron and a milestone night for teammate Billy Hagan. Schwadron led the Red Devils (5-12, 0-6 CC) with 19 points and 13 rebounds while Hagan scored his 1,000th career point on a breakaway layup in the second half and finished with 14 points.

Despite some nervous moments down the stretch, Gettysburg never trailed after an Oloruntoba free throw made it 3-2 just 1 minute, 43 seconds into the game.

Dickinson stayed within a point at 8-7 on a 3-pointer from Hagan at 12:39 before Glaser took over. Over the next 8 minutes, 9 seconds, the Bullets' scoring leader racked up 18 of his squad's next 20 points, draining a 3-pointer to cap the stretch and push the Gettysburg lead to 28-20 with 4:06 left in the half.

The Red Devils scored five quick points to cut the deficit to three before Todd Brady (Hancock, NH/ConVal) knocked down a trey to make it 31-25 at halftime.

A layup from Ryan Page (Silver Spring, MD/St. John's College [DC]) and two Glaser free throws made it 35-25 in the first minute of the second half and the Bullets led by as many as 12 on Brady's second 3-pointer with 12:52 left.

From there, Dickinson chipped away at the Gettysburg advantage, using a 9-2 run consisting of a Hagan 3-pointer and six free throws to pull within 53-49 with 6:35 remaining.

The Bullets, however, righted the ship on driving layups by Justin Harrison (Washington, DC/St. John's College) and Brady, making it 57-49 with 4:34 left.

The Red Devils cut the lead to 57-54 on a three from Brando Karpo with 1:04 to play, but Glaser calmly sank two free throws to make it 59-54. Following a Dickinson turnover, Kyle Jakobe (Baltimore, MD/McDonogh/Peddie School [NJ]) iced the win with two charity tosses.

Glaser's 26-point performance was his seventh 20-plus-point showing of the season. Brady finished with eight points and six rebounds. The Bullets also snapped a seven-game road losing streak while winning in an opponents' gym for the first time this season.

Gettysburg returns to action on Saturday at home against Swarthmore. Game time is 2 p.m.
