Box Score

BALTIMORE, Md. - Junior Liz Feldhusen (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough Reg.) scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 82nd minute to lead Gettysburg past Johns Hopkins 2-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Wednesday.

Feldhusen, who sat out the last three games due to injuries, returned to net her fourth goal of the season and help the Bullets (10-3, 6-0 CC) defeat the defending CC champion Blue Jays (9-5-1, 3-3 CC) to remain undefeated in conference play. All four of Feldhusen's goals have been game-winners in 2003.

Freshman Katie Myers (Randallstown, MD/WSTES) tallied the first goal of the night and her fourth goal of the year while junior Jenny Line (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) recorded an assist on the game-winner.

Meg McIntosh posted the lone goal for Johns Hopkins while Jen Goebel made three saves in the loss.

Gettysburg scored a goal in each half to come away with its sixth-straight victory of the season.

Myers gave the Bullets an early 1-0 lead when she put the ball in the back of the net off a rebound with just 8:53 gone in the first half.

Nearly 73 minutes later, Line crossed the ball and found Feldhusen two feet from the goal for a 2-0 lead with 8:23 left to play.

The Blue Jays broke up the shutout when McIntosh knocked in a 15-footer in the 87th minute.

Katie Simmons (Altamont, NY/Guilderland) tallied one save in 90 minutes of work in between the pipes.

Gettysburg returns to action on Saturday at Muhlenberg. Game time is 1 p.m.
