Box Score

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Henry Mullen (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa) went 3-for-3 with three RBIs to lead Gettysburg past Dickinson 19-2 in Centennial Conference (CC) baseball action on Friday.

Mullen recorded a double and two singles on the afternoon, scoring three runs and driving in three to help the Bullets (13-10-2, 8-4-1) sweep the season series with the Red Devils (6-14, 1-9) for the third consecutive year. With the victory, the squad wins its 13th game to surpass last season's win total.

Nathan Bashaw (Weybridge, England/Tasis England) went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs while Justin Steele (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Reg.) added a 2-for-4 performance with three RBIs and a run scored in the winning effort.

Russell Rubin and Brian Rohm led Dickinson, going 1-for-2 with an RBI apiece in the loss.

After the Red Devils grabbed its only lead in the two games, Gettysburg scored 19 of the final 20 runs to cruise to its second straight win.

Rubin gave Dickinson the early advantage on an RBI single in the second, but the lead was short-lived after the Bullets erupted for five runs in the bottom of the inning.

Mullen and Brendan McDonald (Bennington, VT/Mt. Anthony Union) hit back-to-back singles that put Gettysburg ahead to stay. McDonald and Joe Gossweiler (Florham Park, NY/Hanover Park) scored on an error before Bashaw capped the frame off with an RBI single to right field for a 5-1 advantage.

The Bullets increased the margin to 11-1 with six runs in the fourth. Bashaw and Mike Luteran (Livingston, NJ/Livingston) each recorded RBIs before Steele knocked both runners home on a single up the middle. The squad added two more runs after a Red Devil error.

Mullen hit a two-run single in the fifth before Dickinson plated its second run of the day on a Rohm single down the right field line in the sixth.

Gettysburg then exploded for its second six run inning of the day in the sixth to put the contest out of reach.

A constant drizzle and overcast skies forced a rain delay in the middle of the fourth, and caused the game to be called after seven innings.

Dan Armstrong (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown) (3-2) pitched six strong innings, allowing two runs on four hits with five strikeouts to pick up his third victory of the year.

The Bullets return to action in CC action at Muhlenberg for a doubleheader. Start time is 1 p.m.
