Box Score

SELINGSGROVE, Pa. - Junior David Pone (Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown) netted two goals and added an assist to lead Gettysburg past Susquehanna 3-0 in the non-conference men's soccer action on Tuesday.

Pone, who has scored all four of his goals this season in the last two games, tallied the eventual game-winning and third goal for the Bullets (4-2). It is the second-straight game in which he has executed the two-goal trick.

Chris Borcik (Reisterstown, MD/Franklin), who netted his first goal of the season in a 4-1 win over Haverford on Saturday, also scored in the game and posted an assist.

Ryan Murray made six saves in goal for the Crusaders (2-4-1), while John Ward (Elysburg, PA/Southern Columbia) matched Murray with six stops and collected his second shutout this season.

Gettysburg took a 1-0 lead into halftime thanks to Pone and cruised to its fourth straight victory of the year.

Freshman Jeffrey Collmann (Elverson, PA/Twin Valley) tallied his team-leading third assist when he found Pone in the 26th minute to give the Bullets the only goal they needed of the afternoon.

The Bullets added two insurance goals when Pone fed Borcik in the 81st minute, who then returned the favor six minutes later by assisting on Pone's second goal.

Gettysburg outshot Susquehanna 15-14, while the Crusaders held a 2-1 edge on corner kicks.

The Bullets return to action on Saturday at Swarthmore. Game time is 2:30 p.m.
