ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - Sophomore Jon Ruiz
scored the game-winning goal to lead Eastern over Gettysburg
1-0 in non-conference men's soccer action on Saturday.
Ruiz tallied his first goal of the season
in the 13th minute to help the Eagles (2-0) snap a five-game
losing streak to the Bullets (0-2).
Ruiz netted the lone goal of the day in the
midst of a scramble off a corner kick from Kyle Shedaker.
Eastern outshot the Bullets 12-3 and held
a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Brandon Ziegler made four stops
for the Eagles while Gettysburg's John Ward (Elysbury,
PA/Southern Columbia) made fives saves.
The Bullets return to action on Wednesday
against Frostburg State. Game time is 4 p.m.
