Box Score

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Senior Katie Lowe (Setauket, NY/Ward Melville) tallied her second two-goal game of the season to lift No. 17 Gettysburg to a 6-0 victory at Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Friday.

Lowe got the Bullets (7-3, 4-1 CC) on the board in the 19th minute to record her second game-winning goal of 2004. Freshman Katherine Corkhill (Paoli, PA/Academy of Notre Dame) made two saves in her conference-leading sixth individual shutout.

Aquila Alexander made seven saves in the cage for the Owls (3-7, 0-5 CC), who were held to just two shots on the day.

Lowe opened scoring on her third – and Gettysburg’s seventh – shot of the game, taking a pass from Becky Latta (West Chester, PA/Henderson).

Exactly three minutes later, Meg Goddu (Chadds Ford, PA/Unionville) broke all the way down the left side of the field and passed off to Bridget Seidel (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin), who dodged a defender and found the backboard to make it 2-0.

A minute later, Lowe made it 3-0, rebounding a Maura Downey (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Catholic) shot and slipping it just inside the right pipe for the third multi-goal of her career.

Midway through the second half, Christi Farrell (Broomall, PA/Academy of Notre Dame) found the cage for her first collegiate goal, taking a long pass from Latta. The assist marked the first two assist game of Latta’s career.

At the 57:06 mark, Amy Schneider (Allentown, PA/Moravian Academy) collected a long pass and drew Alexander before passing left to Goddu, who hit the backboard to make it 5-0.

Seeing the first action of her collegiate career, Amy Morris (Baltimore, MD/Bryn Mawr School) collected a long hit in the game 69th minute. Morris passed off to Essie Mallonee (Baltimore, MD/Park School) for her first assist and Mallonee’s first collegiate goal.

The Bullets return to action on Wednesday at Muhlenberg. Game time is 4 p.m.
