Jen Bengel (Timonium, MD/Roland Park Country School) led the Bullets (10-14, 7-10 CC) with 14 points, and Dana Bear (Lansdale, PA/Lansdale Catholic) added 12 to become the fourth Gettysburg women’s basketball player to score at least 1,200 career points.

After Emily Falk (Boiling Springs, PA/Boiling Springs) hit 1 of 2 free throws to break a 27-all halftime deadlock, the Garnet ran off 13 straight points to take a 40-28 lead with 13:52 to play. During the run, Robinson scored seven points, including her only 3-pointer of the game.

Robinson momentarily halted the spurt, hitting 1 of 2 free throws to push the lead back to four.

A Bengel basket-and-foul trimmed the Garnet advantage to one at 47-46. Bengel converted a Bear assist with 4:34 to play that gave Gettysburg its first lead since the opening minute of the second half. Robinson answered with a driving layup along the baseline to give Swarthmore the lead once again.

Jamie Marshall (Pottsville, PA/Nativity B.V.M) connected on a no-look, reverse scoop basket on the next Bullet possession for a 50-49 lead. With one second left on the shot clock, Robinson pulled up and nailed a foul-line jumper to give the Garnet a 51-50 advantage.

After Bear finished a tough driving layup, Alison Wolff hit 1 of 2 charity tosses to knot the game at 52-all. Zoey Adams-Deutsch accounted for the final of six lead changes over the last 4:34, hitting two free throws.

Falk pulled Gettysburg even with a driving jumper at the 1:16 mark, but Robinson hit on back-to-back possessions and Adams-Deutsch hit two free throws for the final margin.

Walters opened the game with a layup, but Bear countered with the Bullets only trey of the game for a 3-2 lead. After Wolff gave the hosts the lead once again, Bear and Bengel hit back-to-back baskets to open a 7-4 advantage.

The next seven Garnet points came from the free-throw line before Kristen Lee snapped a eight and a half minute scoring drought from the floor to make it 14-13 in favor of Gettysburg.

Katie Eiden (Silver Spring, MD/Georgetown Visitation) hit the next five Bullet points – her only of the game – and Bear added a field goal with 6:13 left in the first half to give Gettysburg its largest lead at 21-15.

A 7-0 spurt over the next 1-minute, 36-seconds, capped by two free throws from Jessica Fuhr, gave Swarthmore the lead at 22-21.
