Box Score

LANCASTER, Pa. - Duran Searles led four players in double-digits with a game-high 15 points to help Franklin & Marshall defeat Gettysburg 75-49 in the Centennial Conference (CC) semifinals on Saturday.

Searles went 6-for-8 from the floor, including a perfect 3-for-3 showing from behind the arc. Jackiem Wright and Steve Juskin each scored 14 points while Bobby Lynch added 11 points to help the Diplomats (23-3) secure the final spot in the championship game.

Franklin & Marshall will face Johns Hopkins on Sunday in Lancaster. The Blue Jays defeated Ursinus 107-101 in the day's other semifinal game.

Kyle Jakobe (Baltimore, MD/McDonogh/Peddie [NJ]) scored a team-high 11 points and grabbed five rebounds while David Glaser (West Chester, PA/Malvern Prep) chipped in with 10 points in the loss.

Franklin & Marshall exploded for 41points and held the Bullets' (15-12) to just 19 points in the second half to collect its third win over Gettysburg this season enroute to the title game.

Todd Brady (Hancock, NH/ConVal) broke the scoreless second half with a lauyp at the 18:10 mark to pull the Bullets within two at 32-34. After that, the Diplomats hit three treys and two layups in a two-minute span to build a double-digit lead that would not relinquish.

Brady's jumper at 11:54 cut the lead to 50-37, but Gettysburg would not come any closer. Franklin & Marshall used a 25-12 run, behind four more three-pointers to seal the victory.

In the first half that saw six lead changes, the Diplomats took the first four-point lead on back-to back jumpers from Juskin and Searles. Jakobe answered with five straight points off a three-pointer and a fast-break lauyp courtesy of Brady to take the first lead at 11-10.

The see-saw battle began and a trey by Searles put F&M back up top, 13-11. Exchanges of layups from Brady and Lynch kept the game at a standstill until Juskin hit one-of-two free throws for the one-point lead.

Matt Whelan's (Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield) layup at the 11:14 mark helped the Bullets regain the lead at 17-16. Glaser, who hit all of his points in the first half, drained a trey to take a four-point lead, before Danny Lynch nailed a jumper to end a four-minute scoring draught.

Two free throws by Glaser pushed the lead to 22-18, but Juskin collected five points on the next to possessions to make it 23-22 in favor of the Diplomats. Reggie Davis (Longwood, FL/William Penn Charter [PA]) slipped a layup in to give Gettysburg its last lead of the game at 24-23 with 5:20 to play.

F&M took a four-point lead thanks to Wright's layup and would keep that edge into halftime.

Brady hit double-figures with 10 points and eight other players scored for the Bullets.
