Similar to Saturday’s win by an identical score against Swarthmore, Gettysburg scored early and often.

O’Bannon finished his hat trick off a Van Nostrand feed 57 seconds later and Jon Sowanick (Bethesda, MD/Bullis) scored his second goal in as many games to put the Bullets ahead 6-0 after one period.

Stewart, Kevin Smith (Baltimore, MD/McDonogh) and Twombly all scored in the first seven minutes of the second quarter to make it 9-0 before the Mules got on the board, courtesy of Kushay with 4:40 left in the half.

Van Nostrand picked up his third point of the game assisting Alec Knight’s (Baltimore, MD/Calvert Hall) goal to close the half. Gettysburg led by as many as 13 on a Nick Purkat (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) goal that made it 14-1 with 10:36 remaining.

Bullet freshmen Jimmy Gates (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) and Andrew Mavraganis (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) tallied their first collegiate goals to close out the scoring.

Twombly, Smith and Knight finished with two goals apiece for Gettysburg while Campbell Henry (Chapel Hill, NC/Episcopal [VA]) won 13 of 16 face-offs.

Justin Hollander added an assist for the Mules. Gavin Crescenzo made nine of his team’s 11 saves.
