HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Molly Gale (Franklin, MI/Wylie E. Groves) and Katie Eiden (Silver Spring, MD/Georgetown Visitation [DC]) went 2-for-4 with an RBI each in game one as Gettysburg split with Juniata in non-conference softball action on Wednesday.

The Bullets (12-5) collected their fourth shutout victory with a 5-0 win over the Eagles (12-5) in game one. Juniata captured the night cap, 5-2.

Megan Pilarcik (Middletown, MD/Middletown) went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Gettysburg starter Shannon Kiry (Cinnaminson, NJ/ Cinnaminson) went the distance, striking out four and only allowing four hits in the complete-game victory.

The Bullets scored all the runs they would need in the first inning and kept the Eagles off the board for their 12th win of the season.

Adrienne Simmons (Douglassville, PA/Daniel Boone) started off the four-run inning with a hit to left field. Jackie Pareso (Washington, PA/Canevin Catholic) got to first on a fielder's choice and Simmons reached second on an error.

Following Pareso, Gale hit a fly ball into the outfield to score Simmons. Pareso also scored, while Gale made her way to second on another Juniata error. Sara Gutermuth (Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) drove in Gale on an RBI single. Pilarcik mimicked Gutermuth on her first trip to the plate to make it 4-0.

Margaret Hallahan (Huntingdon, PA/Huntingdon), playing in her hometown, added an insurance run in the sixth inning after smacking a double and scoring on Eiden's RBI single.

The Eagles broke a 1-all tie with three runs in the fourth inning to win game two 5-2 and snap Gettysburg's six-game winning streak.

Becky Herr led Juniata with two hits and one run scored, while Lizzie Bartosik recorded the win on the mound. The Eagles did not waste anytime in game two, jumping out to a 1-0 lead after one inning. Amy Gable used an error to round the bases and beat the tag at home on Sarah Patterson's bunt.

The Bullets tied the game in the top of the fourth. Gutermuth grounded the ball into left field and got to third thanks to Pilarcik's double on a fly ball to center field. Hallahan hit an RBI single that allowed Gutermuth to put Gettysburg on the scoreboard.

Juniata answered back and regained the lead, scoring three runs on two hits in the bottom of the fourth and recording another run in the fifth.

Gutermuth, who went a perfect 2-for-2, tacked on another run in the sixth for the Bullets.

The Bullets return to action on Saturday at Swarthmore. The doubleheader is at 1 p.m.
