GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Freshman Colleen Stuart (Centennial, CO/Arapahoe) scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime to put Gettysburg past Lebanon Valley College 1-0 in non-conference women's soccer action on Tuesday.
The Bullets dominated play throughout the game outshooting the Dutchmen 25-5, but finally converted in the 107th minute when Stuart netted her second goal of the season off a pass from Jenny Line (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle).
Senior Christina DiTucci (E. Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) led the Bullets with nine shots, while Katie Myers (Randallstown, MD/WSTES) fired four chances. Gettysburg also had an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks over Lebanon Valley.
LVC's goalkeeper Jess Conrad gathered a game-high 15 saves in the losing effort, while Kristin Short (Massapequa, NY/St. Anthony's) tallied two stops and her second shutout of the season.
The win marks the second-consecutive time Gettysburg has seen a double-overtime result.
The Bullets open conference action on Saturday at home against Ursinus. Game time is 12:00 p.m.
