CARLISLE,
Pa. – Andy Carmer (Parkton, MD/Dulaney), Ashley Hillard (Latham,
NY/Shaker) and Brett Jackson (Arnold, MD/Archbishop Spalding)
were Gettysburg’s top finishers in their respective races at the Dickinson Short
Course-Long Course Invitational on Saturday. Carmer
finished 14th out of 224 runners in the men’s 8K race, crossing in a time of 27:05.65.
Eric Dunklee (Barton, VT/St. Johnsbury Acad.) and Frank Hoban
(Dunmore, PA/Dunmore) placed 32nd and 36th overall, respectively, helping
the Bullets finish seventh out of 33 teams.
Chris
DePaul (Lansdale, PA/LaSalle) was the lone Gettysburg runner in the men's
4K race.
In the women’s 4K race, Hillard finished
42nd overall with a time of 16:37.79. Ellen Furnari (Hartland, VT/Hartford)
and Carolyn Goodwin (Manchester, NH/Derryfield School) rounded out
the Bullet scorers.
In the women’s 6K, Jackson
was Gettysburg’s top finisher for the second straight weekend, placing 72nd out
of 247 runners in a time of 25:39.69. The sophomore led the way at the George
Washington Invitational last Saturday.
Barb
Creveling (Easton, PA/Easton) and Christine Burke (Springfield,
PA/Springfield) were the Bullets’ second and third finishers, respectively.
As a team, Gettysburg placed 13th out of the 24 teams which
competed in both races.
The Bullets
return to action on Oct. 15 at the Gettysburg Invitational. The women run at 11
a.m., followed by the men at 12 p.m.
