CHESTERTOWN,
Md. – Pat Brown (Far Hills, NJ/Ridge) scored the game-tying goal
on a corner kick in the 76th minute as Gettysburg tied Washington College 2-2
in Centennial Conference soccer action on Saturday.
The Bullets got on the scoreboard first as Chris
Bayon (Langhorne, PA/Lawrenceville School [NJ]) scored on an assist from
Jesse Gemberling-Johnson (Wyndmoor, PA/Christopher Dock) just seven
minutes and 55 seconds into the game.
Washington
College tied the game midway through the first half on a Brian Schultz
goal assisted by Josh Todd.
Early
in the second half, the Shoremen took a 2-1 lead as Todd scored a goal off a long
pass from Jordan Lange.
In
the overtime, Gettysburg held a 3-2 advantage in shots. Washington goalie Sean
Ferri made five saves in the game while Gettysburg’s Nick Wells-Bundtzen
(Williamstown, MA/Mt. Greylock) finished with five saves.
The Bullets held a 19-11 edge in shots and an 8-4 advantage
in corner kicks.
Gettysburg returns
to action on Wednesday at York. Game time is 4 p.m.
