ATLANTA, Ga. – Shannan Smith (Milmont Park, PA/Ridley) recorded 69 assists as Gettysburg defeated Meredith and fell to Millikin by 3-0 margins in its second day of competition at the Emory National Invitational.

The Bullets jumped out to a fast start in the morning, defeating Meredith convincingly in three straight games. Lauren Thul (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) led the team with 12 kills and Erica Rau
(Oakland Park, FL/Pine Crest) had 10, accounting for 22 of Smith's 36 sets in the match.

Defensively, Steph Vial (Hanover, PA/Delone Catholic) recorded 12 digs and Rau picked up four blocks.

In the last of their four matches in Atlanta, the Bullets fell to Millikin 3-0. Smith led the team with 33 assists, 10 digs and a kill.

Libero Vial played a tremendous defensive match with 27 kills. Rau had 12 kills and two blocks and Thul had eight kills, one block, and nine digs in the losing effort.

Gettysburg returns to action on Tuesday against Dickinson. Match time is 7 p.m.
