CARLISLE, Pa. – Jessica Griggs scored with 1:29 remaining in the second overtime period to lead Dickinson over Gettysburg 1-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Saturday.
Lisa Nichols crossed a ball that came back across the goal right to Griggs, who put the game-winning tally away with one touch. With the win, the Red Devils completed their regular-season conference schedule 9-0-1 and will host the CC tournament next weekend.
Danielle St. Pierre (Londonberry, NH/Trinity) made six saves in the losing effort for Gettysburg while Red Devil goalkeeper Alanna Schechtman recorded one save for the shutout.
Katie Myers (Randallstown, MD/WSTES) led the Bullets with three shots and
Steph Smith (Hanover, PA/Cooperstown(NY)) took two.
Gettysburg held a 10-5 edge in shots and a 2-1 edge in corner kicks.
In completing their CC regular-season schedule 6-3-1, the Bullets finished as the fifth seed in the CC tournament.
Gettysburg returns to action on Wednesday in a first-round CC tournament game. Game time, location and opponent are to be determined.
