Box Score

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Kai Kasiguran ran onto a bouncing cross by Dan Wagner  from the left side of the cage and volleyed it into the top of the goal 25 minutes and 13 seconds into the game for the eventual game winner as No. 1 Messiah topped Gettysburg 2-0 in non-conference action on Tuesday night.

The Falcons outshot the Bullets 23-6 on the night. Of the Bullets’ six shots, five of them forced Messiah goalkeeper Dustin Shambach to make a save. Brad Tabor (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) led Gettysburg with two shots, both on dangerous headers.

The Falcons collected an insurance goal with 45 seconds remaining in the contest. David McClellan received a pass from Bryan Mohney, took two dribbles and buried a right-footed shot in the bottom left corner.

Starting in place of regular goalkeeper Nick Wells-Bundtzen (Williamstown, MA/Mt. Greylock), freshman Adam Finkel (Potomac, MD/Winston Churchill) recorded 10 often spectacular saves.

Kasiguran and McClellan paced the Messiah offense with five shots each.

Gettysburg returns to action on Saturday at Franklin & Marshall. Game time is 1 p.m.
