Ford, PA/Unionville) and Amy Morris (Baltimore, MD/Bryn Mawr School)
scored unassisted goals to lead 17th-ranked Gettysburg over No. 12 Franklin &
Marshall 2-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Wednesday.
Franklin & Marshall got on the board first when Brittany
Croll scored on a Brenna Dolphin assist with 25 minutes
and two seconds left in the first half.
Morris
knotted the score at 1 with her first goal of the season just 2 minutes, 1 second
later.
With 26:58 remaining in the
second half, Goddu scored the game-winning goal for Gettysburg, her conference-leading
16th of the season.
Katherine
Corkhill (Paoli, PA/Academy of Notre Dame) made three saves in the victory.
The Diplomats held a 12-6 edge over the Bullets in penalty corners,
but Gettysburg had a 12-3 edge in shots.
With
the win, Gettysburg remained unbeaten in the CC. No. 2 Ursinus is the only other
unbeaten conference team.
Gettysburg
returns to action on Saturday at home against Bryn Mawr. Game time is 1 p.m.
