GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Maura Downey (Lancaster,
PA/Lancaster Catholic) scored the game’s lone goal
on a penalty stroke late in the first half to give Gettysburg
the win over Catholic, 1-0, in the first game of the semifinal

stroke, Downey scored with a shot to the lower left corner.
In the second half, Gettysburg held Catholic
without a penalty corner while the Cardinals held the Bullets
off the scoreboard despite giving away nine penalty corners.
Jayme Dinsmore and Michele
Repass led the Catholic attack with three shots each
while netminder Irene Jordan recorded four saves,
including three in the second half.
For the game, both teams earned nine shots,
but Gettysburg held a 12-6 advantage in penalty corners.
Bullet goalkeeper Katherine Corkhill
(Paoli, PA/Academy of Notre Dame) recorded six saves
in posting her eighth shutout of the season, and second in
as many games in the ECAC Championship.

led Gettysburg in shots with four and had a goal called back
22 minutes into the game on a foot call.
Gettysburg returns to action on Sunday at home
in the championship game of the ECAC tournament against the
