WESTMINSTER, Md. – For the second conference match in a row, Gettysburg could only muster nine points, falling at McDaniel 40-9 in Centennial Conference (CC) wrestling action on Thursday.

Tom Fives (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) recorded the only non-forfeit victory for the Bullets (8-7, 1-3 CC), notching a 3-2 overtime win at 157.

Drew Reinecker got the Green Terror (9-9, 2-2 CC) started on the right track, pinning Gettysburg's Mike Pattanite (Tabernacle, NJ/Holy Cross) in 2 minutes, 24 seconds to give his squad a 6-0 advantage.

Steve Colasuonno (125) stretched the lead to 11-0 with a 23-5 technical fall.

Eddie Labatch recorded McDaniel's second technical fall of night, defeating Ray Cottiers (New Milford, NJ/New Milford) 20-2 at 141.

Dan Patterson (133) and Mark Nakasone (149) added forfeit victories to give the Green Terror a 28-0 cushion midway through the match.

Fives broke up the shutout with his 3-2 win, but Greg Hammack and Cory Beall tallied back-to-back decision victories for a 34-3 lead.

Hammack (165) came out on the winning side of a 3-2 decision while Beall (174) notched a 6-2 victory.

The lead swelled to 40-3 on a Steve Jennings' pin in 4:24 at 184.

The Bullets' Jeff Morgan (Reston, VA/Langley) won by injury default at the 5-minute mark of the 197 bout to set the final margin.

The win was McDaniel's fifth straight in the series and the largest margin of victory since a 37-9 final in 1999.

The match also marks the third time this season Gettysburg was held to 10 or fewer points.

The Bullets conclude their CC schedule on Saturday against Muhlenberg. Match time is 11 a.m.
