GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Matt Loesch recorded a 6-minute, 18-second pin at 197 to secure a Muhlenberg victory 26-21 at Gettysburg in Centennial Conference (CC) wrestling action on Saturday.

Tom Fives (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) came out on the winning side of the highlight match of the day for the Bullets (8-8, 1-4 CC), winning 5-3 in overtime at 174.

Two forfeit victories and Loesch's fall in the second-to-last match of the day helped the Mules (6-9, 3-3 CC) secure their fifth straight victory over Gettysburg.

A Kevin Dougherty (Gloucester, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) decision and Ray Cottiers (New Milford, NJ/New Milford) forfeit wins gave the Bullets an early 9-0 advantage.

Dougherty recorded an 11-6 win to open the day at 125 before Cottiers took the forfeit at 133.

Back-to-back forfeit wins for the Mules' Joe DeCampo (141) and Jeremy Mills (149) gave Muhlenberg the lead for good at 12-9.

Dale Mills stretched the advantage to 17-12 with a 26-10 technical fall in the final five seconds of the 157 bout.

Chris Gibson made it 20-9 with an 8-5 win at 165.

At 174, Fives broke a 1-all deadlock with a takedown midway through the third period before an escape by Frank Pepe and a penalty point just before the final horn to force an extra session.

Twenty-fives seconds into the sudden-victory period, Fives grabbed the takedown for the win, pulling the Bullets within 20-12.

Daniel Donnelly (Garden City, NY/Garden City) made it 20-15 with a 4-3 win at 184 before Loesch's pin to secure the Muhlenberg win.

Mike Pattanite (Tabernacle, NJ/Holy Cross) set the final margin with a forfeit win of his own.

The Bullets conclude their dual schedule on Saturday in a quad match at Scranton with SUNY Maritime and Wilkes. Action begins at 12 p.m.
