, Pa.Shannon Kiry (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) pitched a one-hitter in game one while Jackie Pareso (Washington, PA/Canevin Catholic) pitched and went 4-for-4 in the nightcap to help Gettysburg to a shutout sweep of Muhlenberg in Centennial Conference (CC) softball action on Sunday.

The Bullets (21-4-1, 7-1 CC) made it five straight conference victories with the 2-0 and 4-0 wins, while the Mules (11-14, 5-5 CC) drop to even in CC play.

Kiry picked up her sixth shutout of the season after allowing one hit and striking out five in her ninth complete game while Pareso recorded her second shutout and seventh complete game.

Gettysburg survived the opener with only three hits thanks to two runs in the third inning that proved to be all they would need.

Megan Gorsuch (Mount Airy, MD/South Carroll) reached first on a walk with one out before Pareso hit a single to centerfield, advancing Gorsuch to second.

Molly Gale (Franklin, MI/Wylie E. Groves) – the squad's leader in RBIs – drove in both runs for the Bullets with a triple to left field.

Kiry held the Mules in check, carrying a no-hitter late into the fifth inning until Lindsey Ruhling hit a two-out double to left field.

In the nightcap, Gettysburg spread four runs out in three innings, bringing in two in the second, one in the fourth and on in the seventh.

Pareso helped out her own cause by having a hand in three of the four runs scored in the opener, scoring one and driving in two.

In the visitor's second, Heather Sagaities (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) hit a lead off single through the left side before Katie Eiden (Silver Spring, MD/Georgetown Visitation) advanced her to second with a sacrifice bunt.

Abbe Miller (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts) reached on an error by the Mules that sent Sagaities to third. Megan Dean (Olney, MD/Our Lady of Good Counsel) then hit an RBI-single to right field, plating Sagaities.

Gorsuch walked, loading the bases with one out when Pareso hit a single to left field that scored Margaret Hallahan (Huntingdon, PA/Huntingdon) who was pinch running for Miller.

Pareso drove in another run in the fourth and scored a run in the seventh off a Gale single.

Sagaities went 2-for-3 with a run scored in the nightcap while Dean was 1-for-1 with an RBI.

Gettysburg returns to conference action with a home doubleheader on Tuesday against Franklin & Marshall. The first game starts at 3:30 p.m.
