GETTYSBURG
, Pa.Shannon Kiry (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) pitched a five-hit shutout to defeat Washington 3-0 in Gettysburg's game one before the Bullets fell to Ursinus 2-0 in their second game of the Centennial Conference softball championship held at Gettysburg on Saturday.

Kiry tallied her ninth shutout of the season while freshman Heather Sagaities (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) went 2-for-3 with one run scored and an RBI in game one to give the Gettysburg it program-record 30th this season.

With the split, the Bullets (30-9-1) have reached day two of the championship where they will face off with McDaniel in an elimination game at 12 p.m. on Sunday. The winner of the Bullets-Green Terror game will have to take two games away from Ursinus to claim the CC title.

After three scoreless innings against Washington in the Bullets' opener, Molly Gale (Franklin, MI/Wylie E. Groves) lead off the fourth with a singled down the left-field line. She advanced to second on a wild pitch before Sara Gutermuth (Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) sent her to third with a sacrifice bunt.

Katie Eiden (Silver Spring, MD/Georgetown Visitation) gave Gettysburg all the offense it would need with an RBI-single up the middle to score Gale and give the Bullets a 1-0 lead.

Gettysburg added two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Megan Pilarcik (Middletown, MD/Middletown) lead off the inning with a single to left field before Gale advanced her to third with a sacrifice bunt.

With two outs, Sagaities singled up the middle to send home Pilarcik's pinch runner, Ali Stoll (Swampscott, MA/Swampscott), before scoring on her own off an error by the Shorewomen.

Consistent pitching by Ursinus starter Mallory Greene, who scattered four hits across seven innings, helped the Bears shutout the Bullets to advance to the championship game.

Looking to jump ahead early, Gettysburg loaded the bases in the first inning off base hits from Gutermuth and Sagaities but came up short.

With a scoreless game, the Bears put two runs on the board in the sixth inning.

Jessica Cherry hit a lead-off single to center field before Ellie Knise sent her to second with a sacrifice bunt. Erin McHugh then laid down a base-hit bunt, advancing Cherry to third, then stole second base.

Marci Logan ripped the game-winning two-RBI triple out to right field, plating Cherry and McHugh.

Logan went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, a double and a triple for the Bears while Gutermuth went 2-for-3 for the Bullets.

Greene picked up the win for Ursinus with three strikeouts while Kiry went the distance for Gettysburg allowing two earned runs on seven hits and fanning four.
