GETTYSBURG Pa. – Meg Goddu (Chadds
Ford, PA/Unionville) collected two goals and Krissy Browning (Baldwin,
MD/Fallston) added a goal and an assist to lead Gettysburg over Bridgewater
4-0 on Homecoming Saturday. The
Eagles held Gettysburg to one goal in the first half despite the Bullets’ taking
16 shots and earning 11 penalty corners. In the half, Bridgewater goalie Frankee
Waldron had six saves and her defense helped out with four defensive saves.
Goddu scored the lone first half goal for the Bullets on an assist from Amy
Morris (Baltimore, MD/Bryn Mawr School).
Browning
scored the second Gettysburg goal on a pass in front of the net from Bridget
Seidel (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin). Three minutes later, Goddu
collected her second goal of the game, assisted by Bowning. Maura Downey
(Lancaster PA/Lancaster Catholic) scored the final Bullet goal, driving
a rebound into the high right corner of the net.
Waldron
finished the day with 10 saves in a busy day. Gettysburg took 26 shots and
earned 19 penalty corners in the contest.
Gettysburg
held Bridgewater to one penalty corner and no shots in the contest for its second
shutout of the season.
Gettysburg
returns to action on Thursday at Lebanon Valley. Game time is 4 p.m.
