(Springfield, PA/Springfield) scored his first collegiate goal eight minutes
and 14 seconds into play to lead Gettysburg over Haverford 3-0 in Centennial Conference
(CC) action on Saturday. Garrett
Bruno (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna Township) also scored in the first half
for his second goal of the week.
Freshman
Chris Bayon (Langhorne, PA/Lawrenceville School [NJ]), who had a
pair of goals in his first collegiate start on Wednesday, kept his streak alive
by putting back the rebound of a shot by Ian Foerster (Doylestown, PA/Central
Bucks West) early in the second half. All three Gettysburg goals
were unassisted.
In the goal for
the Bullets, Nick Wells-Bundtzen (Williamstown, MA/Mt. Greylock)
recorded six saves in his third shutout of the season.
Gettysburg (3-2-1, 1-0 CC) earned eight corner kick opportunities
while its defense only gave up one corner kick to Haverford on the afternoon.
Haverford goalies Alec Armanda and Adam Care
combined for seven saves in the game. Panos Panidis and Charlie
Rubin led the Fords (3-1-1, 0-1 CC) with three shots each.
Gettysburg returns to action on Tuesday at home against Penn
State-Berks. Game time is 7 p.m.
