COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Noelle Bissinger scored the day's only goal to lift Ursinus over Gettysburg 1-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Saturday.
Bissinger, who struck for an unassisted marker in the 30th minute, gave the Bears (5-0, 1-0 CC) their first-ever victory against the Bullets, snapping a nine-game winless streak that dated back to 1996. Ursinus had been 0-8-1 in the series entering Saturday's match-up.
Ashley Potter needed only one save to record her fourth shutout of the season and reduce her goals-against average to 0.57. Bissinger led the Bears with three shots.
Katie Ferraro (Westminster, CO/St. Mary's Acad.) and Katie Myers (Randallstown, MD/WSTES) recorded shots for Gettysburg, which fell to 0-3 away from Clark Field this season.
Ursinus held a 6-2 advantage in shots and a 6-1 edge in corner kicks for the game.
The Bullets (1-4-1, 0-1 CC) return to action on Wednesday at Messiah. Game time is 7 p.m.
