WESTMINSTER Md. – Down two games to none, McDaniel rallied to win the final three games and upset Gettysburg in the Centennial Conference season opener for both teams on Wednesday night.

 For the Bullets, Lauren Thul (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central)  had a double-double with 10 kills, 13 digs and one block in the match. Senior setter Shannan Smith (Milmont Park, PA/Ridley) tallied 42 assists to go along with one kill and two service aces.

 Erica Rau (Oakland Park, FL/Pine Crest) and Katie Heffner (Easton, PA/Easton) contributed 10 digs each in the losing effort. Rau led the way in blocks with two solo and two assists.  Heffner also had nine digs. Junior Hillary Prutzman (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) had eight kills and two blocks.

 Libero Steph Vial (Hanover, PA/Delone Catholic) had eighteen digs and one service ace on the night.

 For McDaniel, which rallied with scores of 30-18, 30-27, 15-7 in the final three games, the victory was its first over the Bullets in 15 matches. Gettysburg's conference winning streak ended at 29 with the loss.

Gettysburg returns to action on Friday at the Carnegie Mellon Crossover. The Bullets open against RIT at 7 p.m. then face Carnegie Mellon at 9 p.m.
