Senior goalkeeper Heather Kelley (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga) made four stops for her seventh win of the season, while Bears' sophomore netminder Allyson Shicora made 12 saves in the losing effort. Classmate Krissy Browning (Baldwin, MD/Fallston), who tied Kelly with a game-high four goals, doubled the lead just 1:06 later on Shihadeh's first assist of the day, and junior attacker Jen Betts (Potomac, MD/Academy of the Holy Cross) made it 3-0 at the 2:09 mark. In all, the Bullets scored on three of their first four shots.
Ursinus sophomore attacker Kaitlin Glenn broke the run three minutes later with an assist going to Givens, who led the Bears with three points. Kelly answered 15 seconds later, and Shihadeh and Browning each scored over the next 1:18 to build a 6-1 lead at the 6:45 mark of the first half.
With Gettysburg up 10-2, Ursinus closed the first half on a 2-0 run, getting goals from junior midfielder Logan Conklin and Givens in the last three minutes of the opening session.
