Game 1 Box | Game 2 Box

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Mark Campo (Arendtsville, PA/Biglerville) went 3-4 and drove in four runs to lift Gettysburg in the second half of a twinbill with St. Mary's in non-conference baseball action on Sunday.

The Bullets (1-3) won their first game of the season 10-3 after getting shut out by the Seahawks (4-7) 5-0 in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader.

In game two, St. Mary's jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings. However, Gettysburg would proceed to score at least one run in each proceeding inning while holding the Seahawks scoreless for the remainder of the game.

With two outs in the top of the third, Campo tripled to right center field. Nathan Smith (Hanover, PA/Cooperstown Central Sch. [NY]) singled up the middle to plate Campo and get Gettysburg on the board.

The Bullets would score four runs in the fourth to take a 5-3 lead. Brian Pernice (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown) hit a one-out single. After a strikeout, Dave Olson (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) started a two-out rally with his single that made it through the left side of the infield.

Sean McGee (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) singled home Pernice and Chase Straub (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) followed with a walk. With the bases loaded, Campo knocked a liner to left field which scored Olson and McGee. Straub would also score on the play after a throwing error by the left fielder.

The trio of McGee, Straub, and Olson would all cross the plate again in the seventh inning to give Gettysburg the 10-3 win.

Picking up the win in game two for the Bullets was Andrew Vella (Franklin Square, NY/Chaminade) who gave up three runs in 3.2 innings. Pitching scoreless relief was Chris Liegel (Oak Ridge, NJ/Pope John XXIII) and Brian Koch (Union, NJ/Roselle Catholic).

In game one, Brian Mills threw a complete game shutout. He struck out three Bullets and scattered five hits.

St. Mary's jumped out to a 3-0 lead with a big first inning keyed by Josh Feldman who singled in a run and scored later in the inning.

The Seahawks would tack on another run in the second and add another in the fourth to build their game-winning 5-0 advantage.
