COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Kevin Freehill (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) scored two goals and added two assists to lead No. 3 Gettysburg past Ursinus 10-4 in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Saturday.
 
The Bullets (10-1, 4-0 CC) remained undefeated in conference play while the Bears drop to 4-8 overall and 1-4 in the CC.
 
Evan Gallant (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield) and Jared Harriman (Yarmouth, ME/Yarmouth) each scored two goals, and Trip Dyer (Ocean View, DE/Worcester Prep [MD]) had a three-point day (one goal, two assists) to lead Gettysburg's offense. Pat Vaughan (Cockeysville, MD/Loyola) made 12 saves in goal to key the Bullets' defense.
 
Harriman netted the first goal of the game, just 1:57 into the first quarter. He scored off a pass from Freehill. Freehill later scored his first goal of the game before Mike Tori put the Bears on the scoreboard with 28 seconds remaining in the first quarter, cutting the Gettysburg lead to 2-1.
 
Anthony Tori scored an unassisted strike early in the second quarter to knot the game a 2-2 before Gettysburg went on a 3-0 run to close the quarter. Freehill scored a man-up goal on a pass from Greg Montgomery (Asheville, NC/St. Andrew's School [DE]), and Dyer assisted goals by Gallant and Brian Pryor (Dallas, TX/St. Mark's).
 
After leading 5-2 at halftime, the Bullets rallied for three consecutive goals to start the third quarter. Gallant, Harriman and J.R. Parker (Summit, NJ/Summit) all scored for Gettysburg.
 
Both the Bears and Bullets would trade two goals apiece before the final whistle blew and set the final score at 10-4.
 
The Bullets held a 37-22 advantage in groundballs, and Gettysburg was led by Chris Renzi (Fairport, NY/Fairport) who grabbed a game-high 10 groundballs in the victory.
 
Vaughan, the nation's leader in goals against average, only allowed four goals for his tenth win of the season.

Gettysburg returns to action on Wednesday at home against McDaniel. Game time is 4 p.m.
