No. 1 Gettysburg wraps up first-ever perfect regular season with 20-6 win at Cabrini

RADNOR, Pa. – Junior attacker Jen Betts (Potomac, MD/Academy of the Holy Cross) and sophomore attacker Krissy Browning (Baldwin, MD/Fallston) each scored five goals to lead No. 1 Gettysburg to a 20-6 victory over Cabrini in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon. The win caps the Bullets' first-ever perfect regular season.

Senior midfielder Jenn Kelly (Westbury, NY/Carle Place) set a career high with six assists and tied her personal best with seven points. In the last four games, Kelly has amassed six goals and 20 assists for 26 points and has not had less than six points in a game. She now has the third-best single-season assists total in Gettysburg history. She is four points from cracking the top 10 seasons by a Bullet, and she has moved into third on the career assists list.

Freshman midfielder Meg Farrell (Littleton, CO/St. Mary's Academy) netted her first career goal with 1:44 remaining in the game.

The Bullets (16-0) scored the last eight goals of the first half and took an 11-4 lead into the intermission. They would return to the field and outscore Cabrini (12-6) by a 9-2 count in the final 30 minutes.

Gettysburg, which earned the top seed and home field advantage in the Centennial Conference (CC) playoffs, will return to action on Saturday. The Bullets will play the winner of Wednesday's game between No. 5 seed Swarthmore and No. 4 seed Ursinus on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Clark Field. The tournament's other semifinal will feature third-seeded Dickinson and No. 2 seed Franklin & Marshall. Gettysburg will be looking for its fifth consecutive CC championship.
