HOBOKEN, N.J. – No. 4 The College of New Jersey won its second consecutive national championship with a 10-4 win over No. 1 Gettysburg in the NCAA finals hosted by the Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday. 
  
Gettysburg finished the best season in program history. The Bullets (21-1) won a program record 21 games, including a 21-game winning streak, and advanced to the national finals for the first time. 
  
Midfielder Katie Ceglarski (Darien, CT /Darien), defenseman Callie Gates (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) and defenseman Jamie Heeneke (Pennsauken, NJ/Moorestown) were named to the all-tournament team after their outstanding weekend.
TCNJ (15-2) dominated the first half and jumped onto the scoreboard 4:27 into the game on an unassisted goal by Karen Doane. The Lions made the score 2-0 on a free position goal by Lauren Dougher. 
  
After playing 12 minutes of scoreless lacrosse, Rachel Gordon added to TCNJ's lead off a pass from Bridget Bigley with 10:02 left on the clock. Gettysburg followed with its first goal of the game. Megan Moore (Chestertown, MD/Gunston Day School) drove to the cage, fired a shot and cut the Lions' lead to 3-1 with 8:24 remaining. 
  
TCNJ rallied to score two more goals before the halftime whistle to set the score at 5-1 going into the locker room. 
  
Gettysburg opened the second half seeking momentum, but the Lions got back-to-back unassisted goals from Dougher to run the lead to 7-1. With 16:50 remaining, Gordon added the second of her own back-to-back unassisted strikes to increase TCNJ's lead to 9-1. 
  
The Bullets fought back starting with a free position goal by Katie Hagan (Media, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) with 12:25 remaining. The lead was cut to 9-3 on Moore's second goal of the contest. 
  
TCNJ staved off the late rally by Gettysburg as Dougher netted her fourth goal of the game with only 3:17 on the clock. 
Ellie Shihadeh (Malvern, PA/Conestoga) added a late free position goal for Gettysburg to set the game's final score at 10-4. 
Heather Kelley (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga) made seven saves in goal and finished her season with a 21-1 record, the most single-season wins in program history. 
Gettysburg's senior class of Shihadeh, Kelley, Heeneke and Jenn Kelly (Westbury, NY/Carle Place) end their career with a 74-10 record, the most wins of any class in program history.
