FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - No. 23 Virginia Wesleyan scored twice in the first half and added an insurance goal midway through the second half to earn a 3-0 victory over Gettysburg on Sunday at the Mary Washington Soccer Classic. The Bullets, who won in the opening round on Saturday, were defeated for the first time this season.

Virginia Wesleyan's (2-2-0) Kelly Donnelly scored just 3:10 into the game with an assist going to Missy Kuhns. A little over 14 minutes later, Katie Woodard scored unassisted, and Allie Shannon capped the scoring at the 70:27 mark.

Gettysburg (3-1-0) sophomore goalie Danielle St. Pierre (Londonderry, N.H./Trinity) made six saves in the game.

The Bullets will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Lebanon Valley for a 4 p.m. non-conference match.
