Both teams shot very well from the floor in the game, and Gettysburg jumped out to a 36-33 halftime lead on 63.6 percent shooting. Dorsey scored five consecutive points and Spierenburg added a 3-pointer to help the Bullets to an early 8-4 lead at 16:02. A trey by Collin Kamm tied the game at 10-10 one minute later.

Gettysburg proceeded to hold a lead for most of the remainder of the half. Beck scored all 11 of his points in the final 10 minutes of the frame. His basket-and-foul three-point play gave the Bullets their largest lead of the game, 26-19, with 6:19 left on the clock. However, Johns Hopkins chipped away at the lead with the help of 13 first-half points by Griffin. Nawrocki tied the game at 33-33 with less than in minute in the half. Beck then gave Gettysburg the halftime lead when he drilled a 3-pointer with 23 seconds remaining.

Both teams traded several baskets before the Blue Jays took a 42-41 lead on a jumper by Griffin at 16:18. The next time down the floor, Griffin made a layup, and the Blue Jays would not trail the rest of the game. The Bullets' shooting hand became cold (37.5 percent in the second half) as Johns Hopkins went on a 27-11 run to take a 79-59 lead by 2:59 left in the game. Valerio and Griffin each scored eight points during the run. The Blue Jays then cruised to the 83-67 win.

Gettysburg will return to action on Saturday when the Bullets travel to Allentown, Pa., for a Centennial Conference match with Muhlenberg. The game is set to tip off at 3 p.m.
