Box Score

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Junior Brandon Bell (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown)  scored three goals and assisted on another while posting Gettysburg's first hat trick in five years as the Bullets blanked Washington (Md.) 4-0 in a Centennial Conference men's soccer game on Homecoming Saturday afternoon at Clark Field.

Gettysburg improved to 8-5 and 4-2 in the Centennial Conference while the Shoremen slipped to 4-9 and 0-6 in conference play.

After a scoreless first half, Bell scored in the 48th minute, then assisted on a Sean Lucey (Garden City, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) tally 10 minutes later. Bell tacked on goals in the 78th and 80th minutes to become the first Bullet with hat trick since David Pone also had three goals and an assist in Gettysburg's 4-1 win over Westminster on Aug. 30, 2002.

Senior Matt Langston (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) saved the only two Washington shots on goal to earn the shutout.

Gettysburg returns to action on Tuesday, when it visits Shenandoah in a non-conference outing starting at 4 p.m.
