Box Score

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's soccer team came up short in its bid to clinch the No. 4 seed in the Centennial Conference playoffs, dropping a 1-0 decision at Muhlenberg College in the regular season finale for both teams Sunday afternoon.

The two teams were competing in a game that was rescheduled from Saturday due to wet field conditions.

The Bullets (7-10-1, 6-4 CC), who saw their season-high four-match winning streak come to an end, have finished fifth in the final conference standings and receive the No. 5 seed in the Centennial playoffs. Gettysburg will visit No. 4 seed Haverford College on Wednesday in a first-round match at a time to be determined.

It was a nip-and-tuck affair in a scoreless opening half, with each team managing four shots. But Muhlenberg (8-6-3, 5-4-1 CC) turned up the pressure in the second period, when it out-shot the Bullets 13-1. Megan Francis scored the game's only goal when, in the 51st minute, she knocked in her second goal of the season.

Senior Danielle St. Pierre (Londonberry, N.H./Trinity) stopped five shots for Gettysburg, which held its opponent to one or no goals for the seventh straight match and the ninth time in its last 10 outings. Kate Morrissey stopped three shots for the Mules.
