GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Elizabethtown College scored three first-half goals and the Blue Jays defeated Gettysburg 3-0 in non-conference women's soccer action Wednesday afternoon at Clark Field.
The Blue Jays, ranked No. 6 regionally, won their fifth match in a row and improved to 10-1-1 while the Bullets dropped to 3-8.
E-town scored on the game's first shot, as Kelly Fisher accepted a corner kick from Jamie Alvanitakis and booted in a loose ball. Jenna Russo made it 2-0 when she scored in the 19th minute before Brooke Dotterer set the final score five minutes later.
Angela Freeland saved all four Gettysburg shots on goal to earn the shutout for E-town while senior Danielle St. Pierre (Londonberry, N.H./Trinity) also had four saves for the Bullets.
Gettysburg resumes its Centennial Conference schedule on Saturday, when it visits Johns Hopkins University at 1 p.m.
