NEW YORK – Sophomore setter
Amanda Krampf (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) picked up All-Tournament honors as the Gettysburg College volleyball team earned a split on its final day at the Violet Classic hosted by New York University. The Bullets, now 13-9 on the season, beat SUNY-Potsdam 30-19, 30-24, 30-20 to start the day, but fell to 11th-ranked and undefeated Haverford College 30-18, 30-27, 30-25 in a non-league match.
Krampf put together another productive performance on Saturday, combining for seven kills, 47 assists, and 24 digs. She posted 26 assists and 11 digs in the win over Potsdam (10-14) and ended the day with 21 assists and 13 digs against Haverford (23-0).
Freshman
Kate Yoder (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) tallied eight kills, two service aces, and six digs in the Bullet victory, while
Molly Barrett (Medfield, Mass./Medfield) knocked down seven kills in addition to one ace and one solo block.
Against the Fords,
Kristina Mercier (Baltimore, Md./Mount de Sales Academy) came up with eight kills, five digs, and one block assist. Junior
Meghan McConville (Eldersburg, Md./Eldersburg) finished with five kills, four digs, and three total blocks in the final match of the day.
The Bullets and Fords turn right back around and face each other in a Centennial Conference affair on Wednesday, October 10, at Bream Gymnasium beginning at 7 p.m.
