Box Score

CARLISLE, Pa. – Senior center Ally Teatom had 17 points and 20 rebounds to lead five Dickinson players in double figures as the Red Devils knocked off Gettysburg, 78-67, in each team's regular season finale Saturday afternoon at the Kline Center. Gettysburg, which had already guaranteed a spot in the Centennial Conference (CC) tournament before the game, will be the fifth seed in the upcoming CC tournament.

Teatom, playing in her final regular season home game, was 5-of-9 from the floor and 7-of-8 from the foul line. She led a Red Devil (21-4, 15-3 CC) attack that shot 22-of-45 (.489) from the field and an incredible 9-of-15 (.600) from three-point range. Teatom was helped by juniors Laura Houseal and Carly Onkotz. Houseal added 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting while chipping in three steals, and Onkotz scored 14 points and contributed two assists and two steals.

Gettysburg (15-10, 12-6 CC) was led by freshman forward Courtney Fields (Baltimore, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) who scored a career-high 24 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Fields' previous career-high was 19 points on Jan. 4 of this year against The College of New Jersey. Senior captain Katie Reilly (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) added 18 points and six rebounds, while freshman guard Allie Drechsler (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) finished with 16 points and six rebounds.

With her performance, Reilly moved into 10th place on Gettysburg's all-time scoring list with 997 career points. She also needs just two more rebounds to reach the top-10 on the Bullets' all-time rebounding list.

Dickinson jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as barely eight minutes into the game, it had run out to a 22-10 advantage led by Onkotz's 10 points. Gettysburg responded with an 11-3 run over the next four minutes as Fields scored her first seven points of the game during that spurt.

It took less than two minutes for the Red Devils to reclaim their double-digit lead as they proceeded to go on a 7-0 run with Houseal chipping in five points. Gettysburg battled back over the remaining six minutes and was able to make the half-time deficit a manageable five points, trailing 37-32.

Gettysburg came out strong in the second half and cut the lead to a single point, 37-36, just two minutes into the half with a lay-up by Drechsler and a jumper by Fields. The teams played evenly back and forth for the next seven minutes as Dickinson maintained its one point lead, 46-45, with under eleven minutes remaining. That was as close as the Bullets would get though, as the Red Devils took a commanding lead with a 17-2 run over the next five minutes. Five players scored in the outburst for Dickinson.

Dickinson pushed the margin to 17 points, 68-51, with under five minutes remaining, and it proved to be too much to overcome. The Bullets tried to climb back, cutting the lead to nine points, 72-63, with 1:43 remaining, but Dickinson was able to seal the victory by hitting six foul shots in the remainder of the game.

As the fifth-seeded team, Gettysburg will travel to play at fourth-seeded Ursinus in the first round of the 2007 CC tournament on Wednesday at a time to be determined. The Bullets and Bears split the two regular season meetings with each team winning on its home court. Both games were decided by seven points or fewer.
