GETTYSBURG, Pa. – No. 2 Gettysburg scored the first 11 goals of the game and cruised to a 21-2 victory against Marymount in non-conference action at Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. The Bullets got points from 15 different players, including freshman attackman
Joe Brody (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson), who scored the first four goals of his career.

Kevin Freehill (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) matched his career high with five points on two goals and a game-high three assists. The assists also matched his personal best. Junior attackman
Trip Dyer (Ocean View, Del./Worcester Prep [Md.]) added his first career hat trick and an assist for four points.
The Saints (1-5) got one goal each from senior midfielders DJ Tayman and Brandon Nemes. Nemes scored with 12 seconds to go before halftime, and Tayman's goal came with 26 seconds left in the game.

Pat Vaughan (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield), the current Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week, made three saves and allowed just one goal in nearly 38 minutes of action. He lowered his season goals against average to 3.42 before giving way to the first of his three backups.
The Bullets statistically dominated the game in all categories. They outshot Marymount 58-20, picked up 62 ground balls to the visitors' 27 and won 22-of-26 faceoffs. Senior midfielder
Jimmy Gates (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) was personally responsible for 17 faceoff wins on 18 attempts, tying him with Campbell Henry against Haverford in 2004 for the most by a Gettysburg player since John Czerapowicz was 21-for-27 against Messiah in 2002. Drew Duckworth (Rye, N.Y./Hotchkiss School [Conn.]) was behind the net and zipped a pass to Dyer, who was wide open on the doorstep. Dyer tucked the ball low inside the right post. He would also set up junior midfielder
Ben Sufrin (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) for the game winner at the 9:37 mark. Sufrin collected the ball about 15 yards out to the goalie's left and charged uncontested for the point-blank score. Sufrin also matched personal bests with two goals and three points.
The Bullets were 2-for-3 in man-up situations. The penalty kill also scored twice in eight attempts.
Gettysburg will return to action on Saturday when the Bullets travel to take on Haverford in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
