CARLISLE, Pa. – Sophomore right-hander Kristy Rubino (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany) threw a six-hitter, allowing just two runs in game one, but Gettysburg was out-hit, 15-12, in a doubleheader split in Centennial Conference (CC) action against Dickinson at Dickinson Park on Tuesday evening. The Bullets took game one, 4-2, before dropping the finale, 10-2.

Junior Heather Sagaities (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) led the Gettysburg (11-7, 2-2 CC) offense, going 5-for-7 with an RBI and two runs scored. She tallied a double, a triple and a stolen base in the twin bill. Senior third baseman Megan Dean (Olney, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) had three hits and one run scored, and senior right fielder Meg Gorsuch (Mount Airy, Md./South Carroll) drove in two runs. Rubino gave up six hits and struck out eight in seven innings to improve to 6-3 on the season.

Dickinson (9-10, 2-4 CC) senior shortstop Alex Speace was 3-for-5 with three walks, a double, a triple, one run batted in and three scored. Junior catcher Theresa Souza was also 3-for-5 with a walk, a triple and three RBI.

The Red Devils got on the board first in game one with a single tally in the bottom of the second. Souza plated Jordan with a triple and no outs, but Rubino was able to strike out the next two batters and eventually record a fly out before Dickinson could do anymore damage.

Gettysburg answered with their next at bat in the third on a sacrifice fly to left field by Gorsuch. She scored Dean who had doubled to left center before advancing to third on a Sagaities single.

The Bullets tacked on three more runs over the course of the next four innings. Sophomore second baseman Jessica Wallick (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) led off the fourth inning with a walk. An Abbe Miller (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) sacrifice bunt advanced Wallick to second and allowed sophomore shortstop Nicole Yannotta (Whippany, N.J./Whippany Park) to rip an RBI single to right that scored Wallick with one out in the inning. Gorsuch delivered her second run of the game on an error by the catcher in the fifth. Sagaities had tripled, putting her in position to score on the error. Again in the seventh, Gettysburg mustered up a run on two hits.

In game two, Dickinson scored three runs in both the first and third innings, with four runs in between in the second to build a 10-1 lead. Gettysburg was able to put together one more run in the top of the fifth before the game was ended prematurely.

Sagaities was 2-for-3 in the second game with an RBI for Gettysburg. Dickinson's junior right fielder Kaitlyn McDonald was 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. Souza was 2-for-2 with a free pass. She had two RBI.

The Bullets will be back in action on Saturday when they take on Swarthmore in a CC twin bill at Bobby Jones Field. Game one is set for 1 p.m.
